Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night owl without question. If I didn't have any reason to feel guilty about doing so or any obligations making me get up in the morning, my waking hours would probably be from 12pm to 4am. Being awake at 6 am usually means I haven't been to bed yet, not that I've gotten up early. I'm not quite as sluggish in the mornings when I'm up early than a lot of night owls, as once I actually get up I'm usually pretty alert no matter what time it is. It's just a matter of resisting the urge to quit tapping the snooze button and waking up!

What time period would you have lived in, if you could have lived at any time?
Easy question! ANCIENT ROME!! More specifically in Alexandria during the height of the glory of its famous library. I've always been fascinated with the idea of the library and with all of the knowledge about ancient history that died with it. What would I give to be able to go back in time and study there! Given of course that my magic time travelling ability would have also allowed me to be able to read the languages of the ancient texts! LOL
If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?
I've long joked that I want to write a really bad romance novel. Anytime I actually pick up a smutty book (which isn't that often, but my friend Karyn's addiction to paranormal trash leads to some inclination) I'm amazed by that works of such poor quality are actually published. Amazed and amused that is. The job of Really Atrocious Romance Novelist sounds like the best job ever. I consider myself to be a pretty good writer when I apply myself, so whenever I'm reading one of these books, I'm always thiking "I could do better" so being a Really Atrocious Romance Novelist sounds like an easy job. Plus, I'm sure it'd be a constant source of entertainment to out-cheese myself and my competition. I can easily see myself spending all of my adult years hunched over a laptop, tapping away, and cackling as I input words like turgid, heaving, fluttering, and moist. I think I'd even be somewhat gleeful in telling people what I did for a living. No pretentious author attitude for me! Just "I write romance novels." and "Of course they're Really Atrociously Awful! Look at my 'neighbors' I gotta blend in!" Being so bad at your job would never feel so good.
On a more serious note, I think I've always wanted to be a writer and I don't really care what I write about. Well, I mean I do care to some extent, but I mean I'd equally be proud to write something fictional, opinion based, or scholarly. I have a few novel ideas but so far haven't had the stamina or creative drive to get them off the ground. I've been fairly barren creatively in most areas during the past few years I'm sad to say. :(
What's your favorite song to sing karaoke-style? If you don't have one, why not?
Sorry, I live a very strict no-karaoke lifestyle!
What is your favorite children's movie?
Alfonso Cuaron's A Little Princess. It deviated a lot from the original novel, but it was SUCH a beautifully shot movie and I actually like the the script of the movie better than the book. The entire film felt charming and magical and I still love watching this 11 years later.
Runners-up include the 1979 Nutcracker Fantasy, Return to Oz, and the version of Alice in Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass that was on TV in the 80's all for being so deliciously creepy.
What are your plans for the holiday weekend?
Nada! Gotta work! And work more than originally planned too, as we're short handed at work again. >.<
What song or lyrics are stuck in your head at the moment? What album is it from?
Submitted by Lox Ly.
Right now it's Passive by A Perfect Circle from the Constantine Soundtrack. A giant improvement from the sound I had stuck in my head when I first read today's QOTD this morning. At the time it was I Had The Time Of My Life from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. The song keeps playing at work. Talk about Dentist Office Waiting Room music!
What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?
I suppose it depends on who it is I'm keeping in touch with. If it's an online friend, my top two preferences AIM or private messages on the forum I run, bpal.org, as those are the two spots I'm bound to see the message first. For extended family, email is fine, though I rarely if ever communicate with any of them outside of holiday gatherings. For my immediate family, a phone message is best. And for offline buddies, my communication means of choice is happy hour. ;)
What is your browser's default home page set to?

CrooksAndLiars.com! So I can catch up on all the cable news I would have wanted to watch if I didn't have to work and go to class. It's really a great site. Liberally biased, obviously, but that's a strength as far as I'm concerned! ;) Helps keep me "plugged in" even when I'm busy.
